COURSE DESCRIPTION

The FEBT Summer School on 'Informality in the Global South and beyond: Qualitative and Quantitative Research of Informal Economies' is designed for students seeking to understand and address the complexities of informal economies. Participants will gain insights into various forms of the informal economy and their impact on society, while acquiring skills in research practices, policy analysis, and communication for sustainable initiatives. Ideal for those interested in research, policy-making, and advocacy in the context of the Global South and beyond.

  • University graduates in economics (or social sciences, technical sciences or related fields) who wish to complete their knowledge in this field and use it to prepare their dissertation.
  • Bachelor's degree graduates in economics or social sciences or students in the final year of their degree programme in economics or social sciences who wish to study this subject.
  • Researchers and professionals working in this field.

 

CREDITS TRANSFERS (ECTS)

The FEBT Summer School program provides participants with an evaluation process which includes both online and onsite components, aimed at facilitating official credit transfers (ECTS).

Evaluation Procedure:

Participants obtaining 3 ECTS credits will undergo evaluation based on consistent and active attendance throughout the course, as well as completion of an online assignment in the form of a take-home essay (cca 10,000 words).

The objective of the essay is to demonstrate critical thinking skills regarding the challenges of informal economies. 

 

CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE

Participants not interested in credit transfer will instead receive the Certificate of Attendence, stating the course completed. These students will be neither evaluated nor graded.
