Erasmus + BIP: Managing Urban Tourism: Planning and Monitoring for Sustainability - It’s a wrap!

We are proud to announce the successful completion of the Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) “Managing Urban Tourism: Planning and Monitoring for Sustainability”, hosted by the Faculty of Economics, Business and Tourism, University of Split.

The programme combined an online component (starting April 15th) with an on-site phase held in Split from April 20th to 24th, 2026, bringing together students and academics from partner institutions: University of Malta, University of Algarve, University of Gdansk and Nord University.

Under the coordination of Assoc. Prof. Ante Mandić, PhD, participants explored key challenges of urban tourism management, with a strong focus on sustainability, destination resilience, and community engagement. Through lectures, workshops and collaborative work, students had the opportunity to analyse real-world cases and exchange perspectives in an international environment.

The programme involved a dedicated team of lecturers from the Faculty, including Prof. Lidija Petrić, Prof. Smiljana Pivčević, Assoc. Prof. Blanka Šimundić, Assist. Prof. Davorka Mikulić, Assist. Prof. Zvonimir Kuliš, and instructor Ena Jurić.

A special highlight of the programme was the study visit to the city of Split, where participants explored the historical city centre and experienced the local culture, gaining valuable insight into the dynamics of urban tourism in practice.

We would like to thank all partner institutions, lecturers, and students for their enthusiasm, collaboration, and valuable contributions. We are especially proud to have hosted the on-site component of this programme and look forward to continuing and strengthening these international collaborations in the future.
