The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s summer school programme in Croatia offers visiting UNC students the opportunity to combine academic study with an immersive international experience in Split.

 

As part of the programme, students may attend the Transport Economics course at the Faculty of Economics, Business and Tourism (EFST), taught by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Blanka Šimundić. The programme format combines a course delivered by UNC faculty with a course taught by EFST, allowing students to gain both academic and international perspectives.

 

The collaboration between UNC and EFST builds on a long-standing partnership that began with the delivery of Sports Economics by Prof. Rita Balaban from UNC and EU Economic Integration by EFST’s Prof. Dr. Dražen Derado. Since then, UNC students have had the opportunity to study at EFST and experience academic life in Croatia.

 

Alongside the academic programme, students can explore the city of Split and take part in organised visits to nearby destinations. The combination of high-quality teaching, an international learning environment and the cultural richness of the Adriatic region makes the programme a distinctive and memorable study-abroad experience.

 

The programme is logistically coordinated and facilitated by EFST’s partner UCIM-Abroad, an organisation founded by Prof. Dr. Rita Balaban.
