COURSE DESCRIPTION

The FEBT Summer School Behavioural economics focuses on developing analytical and critical skills relevant to developing a holistic perspective on behavioral economics. It specializes in evaluating current trends and prospects in the field of behavioral economics, developing a holistic perspective on evolution, cultural differences, and challenges of cooperation, as well as developing a basic framework for analyzing behavioral mechanisms of economic decision-making, while accounting for psychological and cultural aspects in this process. The experts in the field provide the scientific and practical knowledge of theories and methods used in behavioural economics.

 

LEARNING OUTCOMES

  • Evaluate the current trends and future prospects in the field of behavioural economics

  • Develop a holistic perspective on evolution, cultural differences and challenges of cooperation

  • Develop basic framework for analysing behavioural mechanisms of economic decision making

  • Account for  psychological and cultural aspects in decision-making

 

TARGET AUDIENCE

  • Graduate students in economics (or in social sciences, technical sciences or science related fields) who intend to round out their knowledge in the field and use it in the proces of preparing dissertations.
  • Holders of undergraduate degrees or students in the last year of ther studies in economics or the social sciences who wish to study the field of behavioural economics.
  • Researchers and professionals working in the field.

 

CREDITS TRANSFERS (ECTS)

The FEBT Summer School program provides participants with an evaluation process which includes both online and onsite components, aimed at facilitating official credit transfers (ECTS).

Evaluation Procedure:

Participants obtaining 6 ECTS credits will undergo evaluation based on consistent and active attendance throughout the course, as well as completion of an online assignment in the form of a take-home essay (cca 10,000 words).

The objective of the essay is to demonstrate critical thinking skills regarding the challenges of behavioural economics. 

 

CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE

Participants not interested in credit transfer will instead receive the Certificate of Attendence, stating the course completed. These students will be neither evaluated nor graded.
