UNC Economics in Croatia 2025
The formal summer school program of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, UNC SS in Croatia, gives visiting UNC students the opportunity to attend the course Transport Economics at the Faculty of Economics, Business and Tourism (EFST), taught by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Blanka Šimundić.
2025 marks the third consecutive year that a group of 20 UNC students, accompanied by Prof. Michelle Sheran-Andrews, will spend five weeks in Split, completing one course taught by UNC faculty and one delivered by EFST. So far, 40 UNC students have successfully completed Transport Economics at EFST.
This collaboration builds on a partnership that started in 2018, when Prof. Rita Balaban from UNC taught Sports Economics, alongside EFST’s Prof. Dr. Dražen Derado with his course on EU Economic Integration.
Students will spend 5 weeks in the beautiful city of Split and have the chance to visit a number of surrounding areas on day trips. With a combination of academic excellence and rich cultural experience in the beautiful city of Split, the program continues to offer students a truly memorable summer abroad.
